LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A Mechanicsville woman was charged with drug possession after deputies reported finding a glass smoking device containing suspected crack cocaine residue during her arrest on three outstanding warrants.

Whitney Anne Arnold, 39, of Mechanicsville, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The charges stem from a traffic stop at approximately 9:52 p.m. July 1, 2026, near Pegg Road and Pacific Drive in Lexington Park.

Charging documents state a St. Mary’s County sheriff’s deputy observed a blue Cadillac DeVille traveling on Pegg Road near Midway Drive without its rear running lights illuminated after dark.

The deputy stopped the Cadillac and identified Arnold in the front passenger seat. A records check showed Arnold had three active warrants through the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, court documents state.

After the warrants were confirmed, Arnold was taken into custody. During a search following the arrest, the deputy allegedly found a glass smoking device in her front pants pocket containing residue suspected to be crack cocaine.

Arnold was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, where the three warrants were served and the additional drug charges were filed.

Arnold posted a $2,500 unsecured personal bond July 2.

A trial is set for Aug. 20, 2026, in St. Mary’s County District Court.

  1. Ok, WHY was she released, She failed to show for her court dates when arrested in 2025. And still has outstanding warrants for failure to appear. Calvert County Judges need to keep these people in jail and hold them accountable. Why should the police arrest when you are just going to let them go. She skipped more than once at least this time she paid 2500.00
