Xina, Hospice & Palliative Care ► “Xina is a team player in every sense. As a hospice aide usually in the field, Xina loves being with our patients. But when two valued associates in our office retired in a short timeframe, Xina stepped up to learn both positions and bridge the gap without formal training. She has generously agreed to stay in the office to assist with the important work of bringing our volunteers back. Xina is respectful, innovative, and beloved by our volunteers.”
Eric, Emergency Department ► “While the peer recovery team always goes above and beyond, Eric especially demonstrated SPIRIT by working tirelessly to recently connect a patient with substance abuse resources. Eric learned a previously discharged individual was sitting outside the hospital in need of support. He sat with them and offered encouragement, meeting them where they were, which led to a life-changing decision: the patient agreed to enter treatment. Eric then worked throughout the day to secure a spot for them, creating an opportunity that the patient might not otherwise have had.”
