
Leonardtown, MD— On Friday morning, Jan.22 ย TheBayNet spoke with Holly Meyer, who is the director Public Relations and Marketing at MedStar St.Mary’s Hospital about what exactly MedStar St.Mary’s is doing to prepare for this historic snowstorm.ย
“We have had on a daily basis safety huddles, we have an emergency preparedness plan that we practiceย on a regular basis, but what we have been looking at for the last two day’s is making sure all our supplies are here. The supplies did come in yesterday, so we are fully stocked with medicines, linens, and other stuff like that,” said Meyer.ย
At this time, MedStar St.Mary’s Hospital is operating under a Code Brown. What happens to a Code Brown status is as follows.ย

All surgeries and tests will continue as scheduled.
Specialty Physicians at St. Maryโs is closing early today, Friday, Jan. 22. The offices of Dr. Atiemo and Dr. Zahir are closing at noon, and the offices of Dr. Kim and Dr. Flatau are closing at 1 p.m. Both offices plan to resume regular business hours on Monday, weather pending. Any patients scheduled during this time will be contacted should the office close.
Cancer Care and Services is closed Friday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m.
Express Care in Charlotte Hall will be closed on Friday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 24.
Imaging Outpatient Services are closing early today at 3 p.m.
Laboratory Outpatient Services are closing at 4 p.m. and will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 23.
MedStar St. Maryโs Hospital Primary Care office in Great Mills is closing at noon today, Friday, Jan. 22.
The MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital Scheduling Department is closed.
Friday, Jan. 22 ย patients are asked to leave a message, and their call will be returned Monday, weather pending.
“We also have been communicating with staff to plan to stay here at the hospital.We have been setting up different staff sleeping locations for the staff and have encouragedย the staff to bring in their towels and linens packing their bags to stay here,” said Meyer.ย
When Meyer was asked are you here at MedStar St.Mary’s Hospital prepared for this historic snowstorm she replied, “We are absolutely prepared for this snow storm.”ย
