Charles County Republican Candidate for Judge of the Orphans Court, Darlene Breck recently visited Baynet Radio and TheBAYNET.com to introduce her candidacy and her campaign for the position.

During the interview, Breck, a first time candidate, stated that she had always been interested the position of Judge of the Orphans Court. โ€œI am particularly interested in the issues pertaining to guardianship of children. I want to take care of the families,โ€ said Breck.

Breck is familiar with Charles County businesses. She is the sitting President of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce and owns the Southern Maryland Business Center in Waldorf. โ€œAt the Small Business Center I deal with about 40 businesses each day and as President of the Chamber almost 700 businesses,โ€ said Breck.

The Orphans Court presides over all matters pertaining to wills, guardianships, estate and probate. The Orphansโ€™ Court in Charles convenes each Tuesday where the three Judge panel hears cases covering all aspects of estates.

The Orphans Court also ensures that executors receive their due without taking too much from those left behind while administering the final disposition of the estate.

โ€œI feel is so important to educate people and business owners that they need to have a will so they can avoid probate which makes it difficult on families left to sort through the estate,โ€ said Breck.

Breck feels that Orphans Court Judges should be out in the community educating when they are not presiding over estate and probate cases. โ€œCharles County residents also need someone who understands the diversity of our culture here; someone who can see things from their perspective and understands their cultural differences in order to be a fair and just Judge,โ€ said Breck.

The candidate welcomes feedback and questions from any one who wishes to know more about her candidacy and her campaign. To contact Breck use darlenebreck@gmail.com or call her direct cell at (301) 848-1234.

โ€œI feel I am the right candidate for the position at the right time,โ€ said Breck. โ€œIโ€™m happy to talk with anyone who wants to know more.โ€
