Metrorail to close at midnight starting June 3

Washington, D.C. – Early this afternoon, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority announced the closure of the Metrorail system at midnight each night starting Friday, June 3. The purpose of the early closures is to allow for the development of improved Metrorail safety and better reliability.

The last night with the customary 3 AM closing time will be Saturday, May 28.
