Mitch McConnell To Step Down As Republican Senate Leader

WASHINGTON – Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell has announced that he will be stepping down from his long-time position in November during a speech on the Senate floor. He noted he will serve the remainder of his term, which ends in January 2027.

“I’m not going anywhere any time soon. However, I will complete my job my colleagues have given me until we select a new leader in November and they take the helm next January,” said Mcconnell.

McConnell, who is 82 years old, is the longest-serving Senate party leader in history, he became the GOP leader in 2007. McConnell has served in the Senate since 1985.

  2. I wonder when we are going to have access to Congress, that is, when are the US Congress e-mail addresses going to be published on the US COngress website? When are we going to be able to write outside of our district/ outside of our state? Other countrys have more accessible governments. Why is the US Congress website like that? How do the e-mail addresses go? Is it 1st initial last name, first name . last name, what is it? Right now we have to go around the US Congress website to get ahold of a member of Congress.
