CALIFORNIA, Md. — If you are looking for a restaurant that built its culture with passion and has been serving the St. Mary’s County community for over a decade, allow me to introduce you to Mom and Pop Pizza & Subs. With a wide variety of menu options that range from a Bacon Chicken Ranch Pizza to burgers to even fried shrimp, there’s something here for everyone.

The current owner, Adrian Young, explained how he came into owning Mom and Pop Pizza.

“This was my wife’s favorite pizza place and she heard it was going out of business. I love her so much, I decided to buy it so my wife can continue to enjoy her pizza.” The restaurant is co-owned by Andre and Adrian Young who both have a priority of serving fresh pizza and other food to St. Mary’s.

The company’s official name is Young’s Pizza and Subs LLC, but Young said, “I kept the original name because it has been in the community for over 10 years.” There are two other businesses under their family name, YoungMovemint Entertainment, and YoungMovemints Childcare Center, both of which are providing for the community.

When the pandemic began and people started to rely on delivery or carry out food options, Mom and Pop Pizza & Subs experienced an increase in business and had to develop an efficient method to handle the growth. In addition to expanding as a business, Adrian Young said, “We grew as a company.  Not with just customer awareness but confidence in being able to work with a high volume of orders. We worked with our vendors to get the best sanitizer and cleaning supplies.”

The restaurant works to ensure that its customers get the freshest food possible. Young wanted to emphasize that, “We make our own dough from scratch, starting from flour. Then hand-rolled before it is put in the 500-degree oven for our customer. Also, our vegetables are fresh and hand-cut daily.”

To place an order, call (301) 863-2500 or visit their location at 22775 Three Notch Rd, California, Maryland 20619.
