At 7:04 a.m. this morning a fire broke out in the basement of a residence on Point Lookout Road, Morganza.
Volunteer firefighters responded from Leonardtown, 7th District, Hollywood and Mechanicsville.
Maryland Deputy Fire Marshal John Tennyson reports the fire when an electric dehumidifier malfunctioned.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in five minutes before it spread to the remainder of the home.
The fire was discovered by occupants of the single-story brick home, and ruled as accidental.
