LOTHIAN, Md. – On June 25, 2018 at approximately 11:28 p.m., officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Southern Maryland Boulevard near Sands Road in Lothian. Preliminary investigation showed that a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound on Southern Maryland Boulevard when the operator, Raymond Christopher Jones, lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle. Jones was transported to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with critical injuries.
The primary cause of this crash appears to be the operator’s failure to maintain control of the motorcycle. Speed also appears to have been a contributing factor. The Traffic Safety Section is investigating.
