HOLLYWOOD, Md. — A motorcyclist died and a woman and child were seriously injured in a T-bone collision that occurred on Three Notch Road at the intersection of Tom Hodges Drive around 10:20 a.m. on April 7, 2024.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency personnel found the motorcyclist pinned on the driver side of an SUV. The two occupants of the SUV, a woman and a child, were trapped and injured.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, who immediately began CPR upon finding the motorcyclist unresponsive, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters quickly extricated the woman and child from the damaged SUV. Both were transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Airport. From there, they were flown by Maryland State Police helicopters, Trooper 2 and Trooper 7, to separate hospitals.

The child, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was flown to Children’s National Hospital by Trooper 7. The driver of the SUV, a 36-year-old woman was flown to MedStar Washington Hospital Center by Trooper 2.

The incident remains under investigation by the police.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the area and to expect possible delays. Police directing traffic down Mervell Dean Road.

  1. I saw this accident as it was being cleaned up. I instantly prayed for both parties for peace and comfort since it didn’t look very good and thought about them all day. So sorry to all the families involved.
