NEWBURG, Md. — A 23-year-old motorcyclist was injured Wednesday evening following a crash at the intersection of Rock Point Road and Wilson Road in Newburg.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 6:08 p.m. on March 11, 2026, for a reported motorcycle accident. Initial callers told dispatch the motorcycle was heavily damaged and the rider was lying near a ditch beside the roadway.

Witnesses reported the rider had been performing a wheelie shortly before the crash occurred. Callers initially indicated the man was refusing medical assistance, while others at the scene urged responders to send help.

Firefighters and emergency medical personnel arrived to evaluate the rider and provide care.

The patient was later transported by ambulance to UM Capital Region Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
