St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Announces Patrol Division Promotions

LEONARDTOWN, Md. — The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing three members of its Patrol Division who have recently earned promotions to the rank of corporal.

Sheriff Steve Hall joined members of the agency in congratulating Deputy First Class John Gardiner, Deputy First Class David Katulich and Deputy First Class Jessica Wilson on their promotions.

The newly promoted officers have each served within the Patrol Division and will now assume additional leadership responsibilities as corporals, helping guide fellow deputies while continuing to serve residents throughout St. Mary’s County.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, promotions to the rank of corporal reflect consistent job performance, dedication to duty and the ability to lead by example. The promotion also recognizes an employee’s commitment to excellence and readiness to take on greater responsibilities within the agency.

“These promotions represent the hard work, professionalism and dedication these deputies have demonstrated throughout their careers,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in announcing the promotions on a recent Facebook post.

As corporals, Gardiner, Katulich and Wilson will serve in supervisory roles within the Patrol Division, assisting with daily operations, mentoring deputies and supporting the mission of protecting the citizens of St. Mary’s County.
