Motorcyclist Injured Following Collision In Great Mills

GREAT MILLS, Md. — On August 15, 2024, at approximately 4:25 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to a severe motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Point Lookout Road, just north of Indian Bridge Road.

Upon arrival, responders discovered a rear-end collision with the motorcyclist sustaining traumatic injuries. EMS evaluated the patient at the scene.

The injured motorcyclist was subsequently transported by ground to UM Capital Region Medical Center for further treatment.

Maryland State Police continue to investigate the collision.

    – Ride like nobody sees you (many don’t ‘mentally’ see you)
    – Leave a gap, so you have room to take evasive maneuvers
    – Continually update (in your mind) your options for evasive maneuvers for each vehicle: approaching you; you are approaching; beside/ in front/ behind you.
    – Don’t let personal distractions (phone/ radio/ etc.) take your focus from the traffic around you
