NORTH BEACH, Md. – Calvert County emergency crews responded Sunday morning to a request for mutual aid from Dorchester County for a reported water rescue on the Chesapeake Bay.
The call was received at 8:31 a.m. on April 19, prompting the dispatch from Calvert County. Initial information indicated that individuals had launched a sailboat from the Patuxent River side of the bay and awoke to unexpectedly high winds, prompting a request for assistance.
Dorchester County command requested “any available boats” as part of a multi‑agency response. Maryland State Police also responded to provide aerial support.
The incident location was logged near North Beach. No additional information regarding victims or rescue outcomes was immediately available.
