New Wonder Location Opens In Waldorf With 20+ Restaurant Choices

WALDORF, Md. — Waldorf families have a new option for dinner nights, takeout and those evenings when no one can agree on what to eat.

Wonder is currently open for a soft opening at 3069 Waldorf Market Place, giving customers a chance to stop in and try it ahead of the official ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Aug. 20, at 10:30 a.m.

The new location brings more than 20 restaurant concepts and cuisines together in one place, allowing customers to mix and match food from different restaurants in a single order for dine-in, pickup or delivery.

That means one family order could include barbecue, burgers, noodles, bowls, chicken, dessert and other choices without everyone having to settle on the same restaurant.

How It Works

Customers can place an order through the Wonder app or website, or use one of the kiosks inside the Waldorf location. After ordering, customers can watch their name and estimated wait time on the in-store screen and also receive text updates when the food is ready.

Once the order is complete, customers can grab their food and head out, or stay and eat inside using the available seating and restrooms.

During a visit ahead of Thursday’s ribbon cutting, The BayNet got an early look at the new Waldorf location and tried several different dishes. The food tasted fresh and made to order, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable.

The variety was one of the biggest takeaways. With different cuisines, portion sizes and price points available, families can build an order around different tastes and budgets without having to make multiple stops.

Wonder’s restaurant lineup includes options ranging from Tejas Barbecue, Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson and Bobby Flay Steak to Yasas by Michael Symon, Sripraphai, Di Fara Pizza, Burger Baby and Chios Taverna by Michael Symon. Customers can browse the full selection on Wonder’s restaurant page.

For families in particular, the mix-and-match setup makes the location an easy option for weeknight dinners, lunch outings or groups where everyone has a different craving. The BayNet’s order at Wonder Waldorf included a scallion pancake from Kin House, mushroom and truffle mashed potatoes from Bobby Flay Steak, and a Korean kimchi cheesesteak from Fred’s Meat & Bread.

The kids chose drunken noodles from SriPraPhai and a build-your-own bowl from Yasas by Michael Symon, both with a good amount of spice, giving the group several different flavors and meals without having to order from multiple places.

Thursday’s ribbon cutting will mark the official grand opening celebration. Those planning to visit that day may want to arrive early, as the first 100 orders of $10 or more will receive a Wonder swag bag.

Wonder is also partnering with the Maryland Food Bank on a roundup program tied to the Waldorf location.
