LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Shelby Anne Brannon, 41, of Lexington Park, was detained by St. Mary’s County authorities on April 7 as a fugitive from Pennsylvania, where she faces multiple outstanding drug-related charges dating back to March 2024.
Brannon was arrested after deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office identified her during a routine detention facility intake process, uncovering two separate active warrants out of Pennsylvania. According to official documents, the warrants include charges for manufacturing, delivery, or possession with intent to distribute controlled substances; methamphetamine possession; cocaine possession; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The original charges stem from a March 7, 2024, traffic stop near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where Pennsylvania State Police reportedly found cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in a vehicle occupied by Brannon and another individual, Carl Lewis, who was also detained at the time. Brannon was previously released due to a lack of immediate extradition arrangements.
Court records also indicate that Brannon had an outstanding warrant from Franklin County, Pennsylvania, related to a failure to appear for a June 2024 hearing on a separate assault charge.
During an April 7 hearing, Judge Karen Christy Holt Chesser ordered Brannon held without bond at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending extradition proceedings. Brannon waived extradition voluntarily, facilitating her transfer back to Pennsylvania authorities.
A fugitive hearing in St. Mary’s County District Court is scheduled for May 2, 2025, to finalize extradition details.
This story remains ongoing, and updates will be provided as further developments occur.

Great job SMCSO. Time these drug dealers face the Judge for their crimes. Very happy the Judge held them in DOC.
Kids ,, this is why you dont do drugs . It ages da face , screws up the mind and the reflection in the mirror you believe to be yours is an illusion of grandeur .
