While responding to an ambulance run on April 25, a Mechanicsville Rescue Squad was approaching the Firehouse signal at Three Notch Road and Mechanicsville Road when they came upon a motor vehicle crash that had just happened in front of them.
Captain 2A (Kurtz) radioed the incident in and advised he was out investigating; reports Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief John Raley.
With a crew in the station, Mechanicsville VFD Engine 23 started towards the original call just as Squad 2 advised they would be committed on the scene of the accident.
They advised there were no injuries but they were assisting with removing debris from the roadway, and there were three vehicles involved.
Engine 23 was placed in service as the original call was cancelled.
