At 1:23 pm, on Tuesday, February 13, TFC Linger and Tpr. Evans observed tan Acura Legend south bound Rt. 5 at Rt. 243. The driver and passenger were not restrained with their seat belts and a traffic stop was initiated.
Upon contact with the driver, Charles Walter Wyman, 22, of Colonial Beach, VA, and a female passenger, 17, of Leonardtown, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, loose marijuana was observed in plain view throughout the vehicle.
Mr. Wyman was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
