CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — Beloved local food truck The Novel Bakery is getting closer to opening its brick-and-mortar location in Chesapeake Beach with a mural reveal Saturday, July 26.

The owners, their customers and community members gathered for a mural reveal at the truck’s new store, located at 3737 Chesapeake Beach Road. The mural was created by local artist Katie Brinkley Studio and is meant to highlight the shop’s literary themes.

Fans online praised the mural and the store’s dedication to its community and its literary intentions.

The Novel Bakery sells coffee, baked treats and $5 breakfast wraps. The truck’s goal is to combine a love of coffee with a love of books, and it’s best known for its specialty espresso drinks and teas. The Novel Bakery also changes its menu to go with the seasons.

The truck is commonly seen around Calvert County events and is a staple at the North Beach Farmers Market every Saturday.

Store owners kept the mural under wraps as much as possible during its creation to treat an excited community to a grand reveal as they wait for the store to open. So far, the owners have not released grand opening dates and are still working through the process of renovating and preparing the location to be a fully functioning coffee shop.

In the meantime, fans can continue to follow the mobile truck’s schedule online and support this growing local business by buying coffee and more from the truck.
