
HOLLYWOOD, Md. – A serious motor vehicle accident occurred this morning, February 1, 2024, on southbound Three Notch Road near Clover Hill Road. Emergency personnel responded to the scene at approximately 9:08 a.m., following reports of a possible engine fire. Before the collision, deputies were on the way to respond to reports of reckless driving and speeding.
Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles involved in a rear-end collision with no fire or entrapment. One occupant was reportedly injured in the crash. EMS evaluated the patient on the scene and transported them to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital.
Shortly after, EMS requested a medical evacuation for the patient, rerouting to St. Mary’s County Regional Airport to meet with Maryland State Police, Trooper 2 at the hangar. The patient was then airlifted to UM Capital Region Trauma Center for further treatment.
According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, the preliminary investigation did not reveal any signs of impairment, no citations were issued on the scene.
