LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — We are receiving reports of a serious accident that occurred this evening in Lexington Park that is sending one to the hospital.

At approximately 6:45 p.m. on September 15, first responders were alerted to reports that a 20-year-old male had flipped a motorcycle/dirt bike and had sustained multiple lacerations to his body and head. The accident reportedly took place in the 22000 block of Spring Valley Drive in Lexington Park.

A helicopter from the Maryland State Police had pre-launched at the time of the accident, incase the victim would need to be transported.

Upon arrival to the scene, crews discovered the man and described him as “alert” but having suffered severe lacerations to his head and was in need of transport. It is unclear what type of vehicle the patient was operating(motorcycle or dirt bike), however it is believed that they were not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Trooper 7 soon after arrived at Lancaster Park in order to transport the patient to a nearby trauma center for further treatment.
