Maryland State Police in La Plata are investigating a fatal crash that has claimed the life of a woman from White Plains.
On April 29, around 6:22 p.m., along eastbound MD Route 225 West of Marshall Corner Road in La Plata, investigation revealed that Veh. # 1 a 2007 Red Dodge Charger being operated by Thomas Lee Adams was traveling eastbound on MD Route 225 (Hawthorne Road) west of Marshall Corner Road.
Veh #1 struck the rear of Veh. # 2, a 2007 Hyundai Sonata being operated by Michelle Lee Ballengee also traveling eastbound on Md Route 225 west of Marshall Corner Road. After being struck by Veh.# 1, Veh.# 2 struck Veh # 3 a 1998 Chevrolet Tracker being operated by Shelia Victoria Johnson, also traveling eastbound on Md Route 225 west of Marshall Corner Road. Passengers in Veh # 3 were a 17 and 15-year-old juvenile. The driver of Veh #2, Michelle Lee Ballengee later succumbed to her injuries at Civista Medical Center.
At this time speed and is being considered as factors in this collision.
