Chesapeake Beach, MD — Calvert County emergency responders were dispatched Wednesday, June 17 at approximately 6:45 pm, for an auto accident on Route 260 and Elm Lane in Chesapeake Beach.
A single vehicle went off roadway, struck a town street light and then a telephone type pole.
The driver was trapped and the squad took care of getting the driver out. He was transported to a landing zone by North Beach ambulance and flown out by helicopter to Prince George’s County Shock Trauma Center.
The road (Rt. 260) was closed in both directions until everything was cleared and roadway open up again around 8 p.m. There was a detour for traffic using F and E street and backup wasn’t an issue.
