
NANJEMOY, Md. — A driver was airlifted to an area trauma center on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, after being trapped in a single-vehicle crash along Liverpool Point Road in Nanjemoy.
The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. near the 2200 block of Liverpool Point Road, not far from Jacksontown Road. Emergency crews were dispatched after a fire department training unit, Engine Tanker 11, came across the wrecked vehicle in the woods while out on a driver training exercise.
Emergency personnel arrived within minutes and confirmed one person was trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters and Rescue crews initiated extrication operations while a Maryland State Police helicopter, Trooper 7, was requested to respond.
The patient was freed from the vehicle around 3:45 p.m. and flown to UM Capital Region Medical Center in Largo with life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
