Lusby, MD – A Calvert County man was flown to a shock trauma center during the early-morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 7 following a single-vehicle crash on southbound Route 2/4 south of Rousby Hall Road in Lusby, police reported.

Captain Steve Jones told The BayNet it appears the driver and lone occupant of a Ford Fusion experienced a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to strike a guardrail near the Coster Road intersection.

The driver—identified by Jones as Graham Butcher, 65 of Huntingtown—is currently listed in critical condition.

The crash occurred shortly before 1 a.m. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team had the southbound portion of Route 2/4 in the area of the incident closed for approximately two-and-a-half hours with traffic diverted onto Rousby Hall Road.
