PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Optimist Club of Calvert recently awarded five college scholarships totaling $20,000. Sarah Davis (Calvert High) was selected as the winner of the Les Knapp Scholarship valued at $8,000. Sarah will attend University of Maryland this fall majoring in Dietetics.
The Jim King Scholarship, valued at $6,000, was awarded to Sarah Hurley (Northern High). Sarah will be attending Hamilton College this fall majoring in International Relations.
Kennedi Jones (Huntingtown High) was awarded the Robert L. Chaney Career/Vocational/Technical Scholarship, valued at $3,000. Kennedi will be attending Hood College, majoring in Computer Science.
Sara Bevard (Calvert High) was awarded the Edward V. Dorsey, Jr. Junior Optimist Scholarship, valued at $3,000. Sara will be majoring in Biomedical Science at Liberty University. .
Emma Brezina (Calvert High) was awarded the Edward V. Dorsey, Jr. Junior Optimist Scholarship, valued at $3,000. Emma will be majoring in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics at Stevenson University.
