On Thursday, October 06, 2011, at approximately 6:30 pm, there was a report of an accident on Bayside Road, just north of Christiana Parran Road.
The North Beach Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad (Co.1) responded to the call. Once on the scene, they found that a vehicle had gone over guardrail and down embankment about 50 – 60 feet. It was reported that the driver had been thrown from the car but was able to get to roadway. It was also reported that the driver was not wearing his seat belt and this was driving a convertible vehicle. From evaluation at the scene, it is believed that once the vehicle went over the embankment and started down the hill, it did a nose dive with front of car and the car started to flip over until the rear of car struck the tree. At this point the car landed as shown in pictures.
The driver was flown to PG Trauma by State Police Helicopter.
