2005 Contestants in the Men’s Competition carry trays to the crowd

The eager crowd rushes to sample some freshly shucked oysters, which are held out by contestants after the men’s competition. Scott Stiles, of Texas, defending champion can be seen in the video feeding his fans immediately after being announced men’s champion for 2005.

As the oysters are passed the Blue Crab band plays in the arena and Deborah Pratt, female champion for this year, dances away her nerves as she prepares to face Stiles in a shucking battle of the sexes.
