Arnez Devon Bowens andย Dominique Antonio Jones

Prince Frederick, MD โ€”ย A Calvert County grand jury handed down five-count indictments for two men accused of beating and robbing a man this past June, court documents stated. The suspectsโ€”Arnez Devon Bowens, 20; and Dominique Antonio Jones, 23โ€”were both charged with armed robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, second-degree assault and theft between $1,000 – $10,000.

According to documents on file in District Court, the incident occurred June 8. Deputy Callison of the Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the victim claimed he was ambushed in an area of Prince Frederick known as โ€œBabytown.โ€ The victim said he had given Bowens a ride from a local hotel to Babytown and when they arrived he [the victim] got out of his vehicle. Callison stated the victim claimed โ€œwhen he did this 10 people came out from behind a dumpster. When he saw these individuals appear, Bowens bum-rushed him and then the assault began.

The victim sustained a head wound during the incident. The wound required staples and stitches.

Investigators subsequently learned that a gold link-style bracelet and a drill set were removed from the victimโ€™s vehicle on the night the incident occurred. A crime scene technician found Bowensโ€™ and Jonesโ€™ DNA and fingerprints in several places in and around the victimโ€™s vehicle.

A court summary indicated both Bowens and Jones currently reside in Howard County.

Bowens is due in Calvert County Circuit Court for an initial appearance Sept. 8. Jonesโ€™ initial court appearance is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 12.
