Leonardtown, MD –ย Young Frankenstein (cast, pictured above) is now playing at the Three Notch Theatre in Lexington Park through Sunday, Oct. 15. Young Frankenstein is a new musical comedy by Mel Brooks, with book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan. Music and lyrics are by Mel Brooks. Director is Dawn Weber; musical director is Diane Trautman Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 pm; the Sunday matinee is at 3:30 p.m. (No childrenโs tickets are being sold; this show is intended for mature audiences due to sexual content, language and crude humor).

Historic St. Maryโs City, a museum of history and archaeology at Marylandโs fist capital, announces these upcoming October events:
ย – Fall Homeschool Day will be held on Tuesday, Oct.17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the theme โ Backyard of Scienceโ. Enjoy hands-on activities such as wool-dyeing, miniature sailboat races, and colonial-cooking demonstrations. Cost is $5 per child for ages 5 and up (children under age 5 are admitted free of charge); accompanying adults are admitted free.
– Little Explorers will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. with the theme โHuntersโ –ย from the time before Maryland was Maryland. Folks will meet at the Visitor Center at 10 a.m. for storytelling, crafts, songs and outdoor exploration.
Admission is $4 each (accompanying adults are admitted free of charge). This fee includes museum admission. Bring a picnic lunch and plan to spend the day!
-The Maryland Dove will be transformed into a โHauntedโ Ship on Saturday, October 21 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Begin your tour at the State House with family-friendly games, pirates, a fortune-teller, and face-painting while trick-or-treating on the walk to the ship. Admission is free (donations accepted).
-PING, under the direction of Larry Vote, will perform a free concert on Saturday, Octoer 28 at 3 pm. In the Brick Chapel of 1667. (Parking is available in the Visitor Center lot; please check in to the Visitor Center before walking to the Chapel).

Twin Beach Players presents the double-bill of two one-act plays for the New Directorโs Showcase: Dog Sees God, and The Hope Chestย at the Boysโ and Girlsโ Club in North Beach, MD, weekends from Oct. 13 – 22. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees begin at 3 p.m.
Dog Sees God, Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, is a dark comedy that follows the beloved Peanuts characters into their rocky and dramatic high-school years. (This play is rated NC-17 due to its subject matter; some strong language and sexual situations may not be suitable for those under age 17).ย This play is directed by Lindsay Haas, a longtime TBP member who is making her directorial debut here. The Hope Chestย tackles the themes of love, loss, and hope, and is directed by Terri McKinstry who is also the playwright.
