PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A traffic stop near a Prince Frederick church led to a drug paraphernalia charge after deputies located suspected cocaine residue and multiple smoking devices inside a vehicle, according to court documents.
Kevin Andre Alleyne, 33, of Prince Frederick, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following the April 12, 2026 incident.
According to the statement of probable cause, a deputy observed a Jeep traveling on Armory Road that failed to properly stop at a crosswalk before turning onto Main Street. A traffic stop was initiated near St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
During the stop, the driver told deputies he had just picked up a passenger, later identified as Alleyne, and was heading to a nearby business. While speaking with the occupants, the deputy observed a pocketknife clipped to Alleyne’s clothing and requested both individuals step out of the vehicle.
A K9 scan of the vehicle resulted in a positive alert for the odor of controlled dangerous substances. A subsequent search uncovered three metal “push rods” with suspected cocaine residue, commonly associated with packing narcotics into smoking devices.
Deputies also located two glass smoking devices, commonly referred to as crack pipes, hidden in the elastic bands of Alleyne’s clothing. The items were seized and later submitted for testing.
Alleyne was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center without further incident.
Court records show Alleyne was released on his own recognizance following his arrest.
A trial is scheduled for May 29, 2026, in Calvert District Court.
Under Maryland law, possession of drug paraphernalia is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine.
