At 5:26 pm on Thursday, January 11, TFC Quade was patrolling the area of Pegg Road in Lexington Park.
He observed a 1995 Ford Thunderbird car traveling west bound on Pegg Road exceeding the posted speed limit.
As a routine traffic stop was about to be initiated for the speed violation the passenger exited the vehicle prior to it being stopped. When she exited the vehicle she sat on the curb.
The driver, John Raymon Williams, Jr. was contacted and a routine check of his driver’s license revealed his privileges to drive in Maryland were suspended and revoked.
The passenger, Robin Ann Laabs, 35, of Mechanicsville was acting were very suspicious. Further investigation revealed a metal smoking device on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Williams was cited and released. Ms. Laabs was charged with possession of a CDS smoking device and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown pending a bond review.
