At 2:59 P.M. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, rescue crews were alerted for the pedestrian struck in the 27000 block of Budds Creek Road. En route, crews were informed that a helicopter was started per protocols. Crews arrived on scene to find a single female who had been struck by a car. As crews were taking care of the patient, it was determined that the patient would be flown to a trauma center and the helicopter was informed to land at the Budds Creek dirt track. The patient was loaded into the ambulance and transported to the landing zone where she was loaded into the helicopter and transported. Crews were on scene for 39 minutes.
