ST. LEONARD, Md. — A St. Leonard woman is facing multiple misdemeanor charges after Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies alleged she repeatedly walked into a roadway while intoxicated, screamed at emergency responders and refused lawful commands during a welfare check, according to court documents.
Tina Renee Donaldson, 58, of St. Leonard, was charged in the District Court for Calvert County with intoxicated public disturbance, intoxicated endangerment, disorderly conduct and failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order.
According to the statement of probable cause, a deputy responded about 2:15 p.m. July 28 to the 5900 block of Long Beach Drive in St. Leonard after receiving a report of a possibly intoxicated person walking in the roadway.
When the deputy arrived, he observed a woman later identified as Donaldson standing in a yard near the edge of the road.
According to the report, Donaldson was identified through a Maryland identification card. Investigators alleged she displayed several signs of intoxication, including red and glassy eyes, slurred speech and difficulty maintaining her balance while walking and standing.
According to charging documents, Donaldson immediately became verbally aggressive toward the responding deputy.
Investigators alleged she screamed and cursed at the deputy while he attempted to assess her condition.
Concerned for Donaldson’s welfare, the deputy requested that the Calvert Control Center dispatch emergency medical personnel to the scene. Investigators alleged Donaldson then redirected her anger toward the arriving ambulance crew, yelling and screaming at emergency responders while refusing their attempts to evaluate her.
According to the probable cause statement, several witnesses told deputies they observed Donaldson repeatedly walking into the roadway and falling before law enforcement arrived.
One witness said Donaldson was stumbling in and out of the roadway and appeared so impaired that passing motorists nearly struck her.
Another witness reportedly told deputies he was concerned she would be hit by a passing vehicle and helped her to her feet before escorting her into his yard before deputies arrived.
Deputies alleged motorists were forced to slow down because of Donaldson’s actions while she continued yelling and cursing.
According to the report, Donaldson refused medical treatment and declined to be transported to the hospital.
Deputies concluded that Donaldson’s alleged level of intoxication created a safety hazard for both herself and the motoring public because she allegedly could not safely walk without continuing to enter the roadway.
The deputy also alleged that her continued yelling, cursing and refusal to comply with lawful commands amounted to disorderly behavior.
Donaldson was subsequently arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, intoxicated public disturbance, intoxicated endangerment and failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order.
Court records show she was released on her own recognizance following a July 29 bail review.
A hearing is set for Aug. 28, 2026, in Calvert County District Court.
