Preston Hollis Jr.

LANDOVER, Md. – The Homicide Unit arrested and charged a suspect in connection with a recent fatal shooting in Landover. The suspect is 35-year-old Preston Hollis Jr., of Landover. He is charged with fatally shooting 21-year-old Jonathan Jamison Jr., of Laurel.

On February 19, 2022, at approximately 10:25 pm, patrol officers were called to the 6900 block of Forest Terrace for a report of a vehicle that crashed into a house. Once on scene, they discovered Jamison in the driver’s seat of the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and victim were known to each other and that the shooting occurred during a drug transaction.

Hollis is charged with first degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

  1. That is very insensitive. You have no idea what really happened. Those dudes were trying to kill my family and it was self defense. And obviously if the police were able to catch him is because he didn’t run. Try and remember that regardless that is someone’s son, brother, uncle.
