SUITLAND, MD — The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information on a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in Suitland. The deceased pedestrian is 43-year-old Timothy Dewayne Rice of District Heights.

On January 6, 2021, at about 4:25 am, patrol officers were called to the 4600 block of Allentown Road for a report of a pedestrian collision. Once on scene, they discovered Rice unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed a car traveling northbound on Allentown Road struck Rice in the roadway. That vehicle did not remain on the scene. The striking car is described as a dark metallic gray 2016-2018 Nissan Sentra. During the collision, the car lost its front grille, driverโ€™s side fog light cover, left fender undercarriage and has damage on its left fender and bumper by the tire. Preliminarily, investigators do not believe Rice was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
