Leonardtown,M.D.— On the evening of Aug 18 the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad [LVRS] hosted a ground breaking event to recognize the new addition that is being added on the existing building.ย

The original building was built in 1983 and does not meet the requirements that are needed to house rescue squad members comfortably.ย

In attendance at the ground breaking was LVRS President Peter “Rocky” Woodburn and many members of the auxiliary.

“The new addition will make things more comfortable, and attract new recruits for the volunteer rescue squad,” said Woodburn.

The Auxiliary raised $46,019 in the FY 2014 and over 25 years the auxiliary has raised a total of $669,933. The first year that the auxiliary started raising funds the total came to $500.25.
