Vice-Narcotics Detectives began an investigation into Charles Ray Reid, 20 of Mechanicsville, and his distribution of marijuana. A controlled purchase of marijuana was made and Search and Seizure warrants were executed.
Marijuana, packaging materials and ledgers were discovered. Suspect Reid was charged with Distribution of Marijuana and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana. He was being held on $45,000.00 cash bond pending a hearing before the District Court Commissioner. An Indictment is pending a State’s Attorney’s Office and Grand Jury review.
In an unrelated investigation, over a several month period Vice Narcotics Detectives made purchases in various amounts of crack cocaine from Suspect Devone Artice Hall, 20 of Chaptico. His operation was located in the northern end of St. Mary’s County.
Search Warrants led to the recovery of cocaine, money, handguns and a vehicle was seized as well. He was arrested on three open Grand Jury Indictments for Distribution of Cocaine and additional charges are pending.
