  1. How many have to die in collisions at that crossover
Before they deem it necessary to put a light there

    1. Explain to me “Amazed” what a light is going to do! NOTHING! They need to get rid of the left turn completely just like they did at the end of Mt. Harmony Road. Speeding everyone speeds even if you’re driving 1mph you’re speeding. People misjudge that intersection all the time. Even if they are doing the speed limit you cannot just cross that intersection without proper momentum/acceleration. So, it’s best to sit there and wait and proceed when safe.

  2. I don’t know I saw a couple of memorials near the scene last night trying to get home indicating the problem that intersection is😭😭

  3. Or people need to stop and check for traffic. Not just roll through and hope for the best.

  4. They can’t put a light there… but they can add an exit to the Chesapeake Beach exit that will take you to Lower Pindell. You should not be able to cross right there… they should block that off immediately.

    1. I’ve lived in the area for 30 years and to this day when I travel that part of Rt. 4 I see ppl trying to cross, turn, etc. and it scares the heck out of me. Lanes aren’t identified easily, traffic is moving to fast…The State of Maryland needs to pay attention to us down here. And now they have a death on their hands.

      1. On May 27, 2021, the lives of Leah Mae Foster (my Granddaughter) and Nicholas R. Harris (her boyfriend) were taken at that very intersection, hence the Memorial Site. MDOT Engineers need to completely redesign that entire area – too many lives have been lost!!! I encourage everyone to sign the petition to have that crossover abolished to avoid more inocent lives being senselessly taken – perhaps it could save one of
        YOUR loved ones!!!

  5. perfectly safe as long as you stop and look for traffic, more and more people ignore stop signs and just shoot out into traffic

    1. Respectfully, the intersection is poorly designedand maintained. Your comment re signs is not quite accurate as traffic from Lower Pindell is restricted from entering Rt 4.

  6. Anyone trying to cross over route 4 during rush hour needs to be super vigilant. All it takes is patience and attention. Most accidents are caused by the cross overs. They don’t have the right of way…

    1. A light won’t do anything there. There aren’t enough people crossing over to warrant one. Problem is speed. Even if it looks clear a vehicle traveling at 80mph is going to hit you regardless. The crossover needs to be closed and tickets need to be handed out to speeders.

  7. Impatience on Maryland roads is killing people quite frequently these days.

A lot of people are in such a big hurry nowadays. They will risk your life or their own life just to get home ten minutes earlier.

  8. A light would be the worst “fix” for that intersection. Some of y’all are absolutely clueless.

  9. Traffic flies low, think they have wings. Got to get that stretch from Waysons to Calvert County line to slow down.

  10. R.I.P. prayers and God’s blessings to the family loved ones friends coworkers and fur babies
