
UPDATE: Woman Shot By Deputies In Lexington Park In Stable Condition After Thursday Night Incident
LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — An adult woman was shot Thursday night in an officer-involved incident in Lexington Park and flown to a trauma center, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency medical crews were dispatched about 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, to stage on Great Mills Road near East Run Park to assist police. Responders found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds; she was conscious and breathing at the scene. A medevac helicopter landed at Great Mills High School to transport her. Her condition was not immediately available.
Deputies remained on scene late Thursday at 45870 East Run Park, off Great Mills Road, as the investigation continued. No deputies were injured, the sheriff’s office said. Authorities added there is no ongoing threat to the community and asked people to avoid the area to allow first responders to work safely.
Additional details about the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately released.
