On May 10 at 1:50 a.m., Charles County Sheriffโs officers responded to Amber Leaf Place near Wakefield Circle in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, Officer C. Walden discovered a damaged stop sign and damage to a tree. She found an unoccupied 1994 Jeep Cherokee with major damage to the passenger side. The vehicle was covered with tree debris.
Officers determined the vehicle was registered to Anthony Terrell Briscoe, 24, of Waldorf. Officer R. Kimble found Briscoe in the 2000 block of Amber Leaf Place with two other males.
Officer Kimble was able to determine Briscoe was the driver of the Jeep at the time of the crash and that Briscoe was intoxicated. A passenger in the Jeep at the time of the crash was located at a residence in the 3200 block of Inverness Court in Waldorf.
James Brisco, Jr., 18, of Waldorf was flown to Prince Georgeโs Hospital Center by a Maryland State Police helicopter. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
Another passenger in the vehicle, Shawn Anthony Ransom, 23, of Waldorf, was uninjured.
Anthony Briscoe was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing the scene of a motor vehicle crash with injuries, speeding, negligent driving and failure to drive to the right of the center line. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
