At 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, volunteer firefighters and rescue squad members were dispatched to a reported vehicle crash with a possible rollover on Poplar Ridge Road, Lexington Park.

When police and firefighters arrived that found a passenger car had crashed and one injured woman was still in the vehicle.

Before the crash, the vehicle was heading north on Poplar Ridge Road, when for unknown reason the car crossed the centerline and struck a tree on the left side of the road.

The vehicle did not appear to have rolled over, but police believe it was driven a few feet after the crash.

Bay District Volunteer firefighters helped free the injured 50-year-old woman from the car, and a Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad ambulance took her to St. Maryโ€™s Hospital.

More details when they come in.
