I’m writing this to inform everyone in St. Mary’s County of this con artist who approached my husband at the WA WA’S on Great Mills Rd. on Saturday the 27th around 5:30.He is telling of this story of his truck broke down and he called Chips Towing and it’s going be $125.00 to get it towed. He only has $100.00 and needs $25.00 more to get them to tow it to Chesapeake Beach.
His wife works at Southern Maryland Hospital but she is at work and he needs to get it back home, “I’m not poor or anything, we have money, I’m just short $25.00 do you think you could help me out?”
My husband said no, the man then asked if he had a cigarette before leaving.
The only reason he did not give him money – and I’m sure he would have considered it – is because we had a visit from a friend like two weeks ago who told us of the same story. He was in the parking lot of Taco Bell in California eating his dinner, he did give the man $25.00 dollars. As he was driving away he noticed him approaching another vehicle. He of course knew then he was conned, but he said the whole time he felt it was a con, but he gave him the money anyway because it was Christmas time.
I tried to talk my husband into calling the police but he said he didn’t want to get involved in all that, so I’m doing my duty as a concerned citizen to inform you before you get conned too.
He was described as a white male in his 30’s with short brown hair.SOMEONE NEEDS TO STOP HIM! PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS!
