At 9:28 a.m. on March 9 volunteers from Bay District and local law enforcement were alerted to the intersection of Three Notch Road and Rue Purchase Road for the reported accident with injuries.

A driver injured in the rear-end collission near WaWa was placed in a ambulance, but medics requested a helicopter to fly him to a hospital when they discovered the patient could feel nothing below his waist.
With an estiated 25 minute wait for the helicopter, the ambulance transported the man to St. Mary’s Hospital and a landing zone was set up at the helo pad at the hospital. The single patient was transferred to a trauma center.
A police report and further details of the crash are still pending.
