Leonardtown, MD — The St. Mary’s County Board of Election Supervisors will be counting the second and final round of absentee ballots on Friday at 10 a.m. As that count begins House of Delegates District 29B race hangs in the balance, with Republican Deb Rey leading incumbent Democrat John Bohanan by just 69 votes.

According to the election office there are approximately 111 absentee ballots left to count. Some were received after the first count last week and others fall into other categories.

The vote total going into final count was 5,312 for Rey and 5,243 for Bohanan.

The incumbent would have to get the overwhelming majority of those final votes to overcome the 69-vote deficit.
