Ricky Montgomery Bruce, aged 66, from Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on May 16, 2026. He was born on November 1, 1959, in Prince George’s County, Maryland, to Garland and Gladys Bruce.
For over 45 years, Ricky worked as a drywall finisher for Henderson Drywall, Waldorf Drywall, and Frank Wheatley Drywall. Colleagues and clients alike admired his attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
Ricky was blessed with two sons, Michael Bruce (Tami) of Waldorf, MD, and Christopher Bruce (Brandy) of Mechanicsville, MD.
In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and watching the Washington Nationals and Washington Redskins. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Garland Bruce. He is survived by his mother, Gladys Bruce. His two sons, and his brothers: William Bruce (Sharon) from La Plata, MD, and Glen Bruce (Dana) from Brandywine, MD. He is also remembered by his grandchildren: Christopher Bruce, Jr., Tyler Bruce, Colton Bruce, Lily Bruce, Kaylee Bruce, and Elizabeth Bruce.
On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the family will receive friends for the visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with prayers at 7:00 pm. Interment will be private.
