HUGHESVILLE, Md. — Emergency crews were called Thursday afternoon, Sept. 18, 2025, to Hughesville after a reported head-on crash between a four-wheeler and a dirt bike left a 19-year-old rider seriously injured.
The collision happened around 3:23 p.m. in the 13500 block of Cooke Sweetney Place. Callers told 911 operators that a four-wheeler and dirt bike struck each other directly. One rider said he was unhurt, while the other rider suffered a broken leg.
Maryland State Police Trooper 7 landed at Oak Ridge Park to transport the patient to the UM Capital Region Medical Center.
Authorities said the patient’s injuries were serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
