Early Saturday afternoon, Sept. 22, fire and EMS units from Bay District Company 9 and the Lexington Park Rescue Squad were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of

St. Andrews Church Road

and the entrance to the St. Andrews landfill.

The male patient was immobilized for transport. However, the EMS crew was advised no helicopters were available so they had to drive the patient to the trauma center. As the ambulance was crossing the ThomasJohnsonBridge, they were told Maryland State Police Trooper 2 was available. 

The EMS crew then advised the LZ can be CalvertMemorialHospital.

The patient was transferred to Trooper 2 for air transport to the trauma center.
