At approximately 5:23 p.m. Friday March 19, Ridge Volunteer Department responded to a call from a resident of Park Pines neighborhood. The residents of a home on Premier Lane reported a wooded portion of their backyard was on fire.
With a tanker, engine and two support vehicles on the scene, the firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. According to Ridge VFD’s Keith Raley, the cause of the fire was unknown and less than a tenth of an acre burned.
No injuries were reported.
Though traffic was slowed on busy Park Pines Drive, property owners and residents of the neighborhood said they appreciate the volunteers’ prompt response.
