UPDATE 5/23/2017 12:00 pm- On May 22 at 9:48 a.m., officers responded to Olivers Shop Road between Route 6 and Wheatley Road for the report of a crash. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Nissan sedan was traveling south on Olivers Shop Road when she lost control and struck a Chevrolet truck which was traveling north. The driver of the Nissan, Shaina Honeycutt, 22, of Bryans Road, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other occupants in the car. The two occupants of the Chevrolet were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The CCSO Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
UPDATE 1:57 pm- Per the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Olivershop Road has been re-opened. We will have more information on the fatality when it becomes available.
UPDATE 11:27 am- Per the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Twitter account, they are investigating an accident that one person has died in. More details to come when released.
Charles County, MD-Olivershop Road between Wheatley Road and Charles Street will be closed due to an automobile accident. Fire, Police, and EMS are on the scene.
Use caution in the area and watch for emergency crews.
